By now you should realize that Autumn is my favorite time of year and nobody shows off autumn as well as New England towns. Crisp apples to pick, warm hues from the trees light up the skyline, cool mornings calling for extra coffee, and fires being cozy for gatherings
So today I’m going to share with you five quaint New England towns that are great places to visit for your fall destinations and road trips.
4 New England Towns to Visit in Autumn:
Woodstock, Vermont
Woodstock is the quintessential New England town, every single corner is a postcard porches are all done up with pumpkins and haystacks, while restaurants are turning out true farm to table dinners that are just showing how well Vermont’s farm culture does.
You can walk around the little village of Woodstock and be perfectly happy spending the day there or your you can hop in a car and take every single back road that you find you will not be disappointed. Make sure to stop by Farmhouse Pottery to pick up some gifts. Also, go to the farmers market to get some hot apple cider, and then make dinner reservations at Magnolista, which is my favorite New England restaurant. The Mad River Valley
You can take your pick as to which town in the Mad River Valley that you’d like to stay in, but just make sure that you visit the Mad River Valley this valley lights up with color colors that are just brilliant to the human eye with mountains of trails and picturesque farm homes. The Mad River Valley has quite the little food scene with great restaurants and lots of cozy bed and breakfasts. One of my favorite places to say is the 1706 house, located on one of the most beautiful stretches of road through the valley. You can read more here.
Kennebunkport, Maine
Kennebunkport is a top New England destination all year long. But in the fall the colors light up all around the trees light up all around the coast. They provide the perfect moments to capture on film. Not only can you get the reflections of the trees in the water, but you’ve also got lobster houses, buoys and even dinghies to add to the to the frame.
Kennebunkport is a larger New England destination. It’s definitely worth spending an extra few days in this cute little town that even the Bush family loves so much where they vacation. See my travel guide on Kennebunkport here.
Camden, Maine
Camden, Maine is a stunningly gorgeous town up the coast of Maine that has everything you could want.
