One of the more dramatic sights in the American Southwest is Antelope Canyon.  Located East of Page, Arizona, Antelope Canyon consists of two slot canyons formed by erosion of sandstone.  The Navajo Tribe made the canyons a Navajo Tribal Park, and access is only granted by Navajo Tour Guides.  Most people visit in the summer, when the sun is high in the sky, causing a beam of light to come through the canyons causing fantastic photo opportunities. We visited in November and the canyons were still gorgeous and I captured some great photos.

The most popular canyon is Upper Antelope Canyon, with three other canyon tours to choose from.  We toured the Upper canyon and Rattlesnake Canyon, and both were incredible, even in November.  The Upper canyon was still so crowded I couldn’t imagine what it would be like in the peak summer season, I would be claustrophobic for sure!

We used Adventurous Antelope Canyon Photo Tours, and it cost us $108 a person to visit the two canyons.  If you drive through Arizona this should definitely be at the top of your list for sights to see.
