The darling town of Camden is listed in multiple “best of lists” in New England. And it’s easy to see why. Beautiful storefronts lining the bustling streets, delectable eateries, and spectacular views of a harbor lined with perfect sails all make this town a must see. And the best place to experience all of this is the charming Whitehall.
Recently named one of the top hotels in New England by Conde Nast Traveler Readers Choice Awards, this hotel is full of character. Whitehall is an interior dream that wraps you up in a hug from the moment you step in. Full of color, textures and cute corners to read a book. Or enjoy a glass of wine while playing checkers.
Take a look inside Whitehall in this video!
There are two outdoor areas full of comfortable seating, rich hunter green rocking chairs, and cozy firepits. My favorite activity was waking up early with a hot cup of coffee, wrapped in a wool blanket while rocking in a rocking chair. Just taking a moment to enjoy watching life go by.
Camden is full of great little restaurants within walking distance to Whitehall. But they also have a tasty restaurant on property, the Pig + the Poet. It serves up the great local fare to be enjoyed with a cocktail before climbing into your large plush bed.
Your getaway to Whitehall can be spent relaxing, or exploring the several sights nearby. The town is a 3 min stroll away; full of shops, a brewery, and swanky coffee houses. Take a five-minute drive to Cellardoor Winery, and taste their award-winning reds and view they gorgeous property. For the outdoor enthusiasts, you Camden Hills state parks with pretty trails to hike. You can also drive up to the peak of Mount Battie overlooks the town and Harbor. Whitehall was the perfect place to experience all Camden has to offer, and I plan on heading back for a longer stay!
