Located just outside Page, Arizona is Horseshoe Bend. Often called the Intimate Grand Canyon, this quiet little spot offers big views of the Colorado River. The photo opportunities are limitless because the rock will change color throughout the day, along with the river varying from different shades of blues and greens depending on how the sun hits it.
Off of Rte 89, there are no signs so keep your eyes open for a number of cars parked in one spot. Its hard to miss because it is the only place in the area cars will be parked at, and GPS can get you there easily too!
The Trail is 3/4 of a mile until you get to the steep 1000 ft drop of Horseshoe bend – be careful because there are no fences to hold you back. You are free to roam around and climb any of the rocks as you like.
We went at sunrise and sunset to see the different colors – and sunset is definitely more crowded! Since Antelope Canyon is near by you can do both in the same day! You can read about Antelope Canyon here.
XO, Shannon
