Today’s marketing has changed – the days of advertising to everyone are dead – now we need to build strong, engaging, and loyal communities – so let’s talk about 8 ways to build your AMAZING community in 2022!
- Let your personality shine! In order for people to fall in love with you or your brand you need to show your personality, be YOURSELF. Be genuine and authentic. No, not everyone will like you but not everyone loves beyonce either and she is a queen! A great way to show your personality is with reels they can be quick and easy to make and adapting the trends to your industry in your personal way.
2. Be confident in your business and your abilities – You started your business for a reason so shine bright with that! You already know what you are doing – so show up like the BOSS that you are! Don’t be afraid to show your knowledge and expertise – people want to follow people who are confident in their abilities. I can’t tell you how much easier showing up became once I became more confident. Seriously, I knew what I was doing yet, I was still scared to show up and give the valuable information – but once I started REALLY showing up….whewwww life got way easier!
- Create content that solves problems – are you creating content that helps people? What is it that people come to you for? What questions are they constantly asking you? You want to create the type of content that helps them achieve their goals or gives them a quick win!
Think “how to’s”, and “tutorials” Whether you are a product based business, service, or influencer – you have the ability to create this type of content.
- Use an attention grabbing hook – Here’s the truth, you could be Steven Hawking with the answer to all the problems in the universe, but if you can’t stop someone mid-scroll or catch their attention – none of it matters.
Start paying attention to headlines that grab your attention, or newspapers + magazines at target and the grocery store to see how they use headlines to get you to read the story.
- Serve them REAL Value! Are you handing out watered down information – or fluff? Stop it! That doesn’t work anymore. There are too many people on this app so if you don’t want to help your community have quick wins they will follow someone else who does.
I had a conversation with a photographer friend a while back and he was struggling with captions and didn’t want to give away his secrets. Most things are no longer secret – you can find out anything online these days – AND many people are willing to share the information. Wouldn’t you rather freely give information that helps them and gain a loyal community than horde the info?
- Be Vulnerable– No you don’t have to share all of your secrets but being vulnerable makes you RELATEABLE.
There are many themes in life and we share them ALL – the only difference is the details. Being vulnerable and showing what you consider flaws will be the very reasons your ideal community will fall in love with you.
- Include a Call to Action – Most of the time people use CTA’s to direct their audience to a link, or sale. But what if you started using CTA’s to get to know your audience and actually start to LISTEN to them? How would that begin to change the dialogue….
- Don’t be so technical. When it comes to reading or perusing content most of us are reading at a 5th grade level. Be sure to use language that gets the point across quickly and efficiently. Start to pay attention to the words people are using in testimonials, reviews and your DM’s
