Instagram is an awesome way to connect with your ideal client/people. But as a business owner, you want to make sure that your posts are an accurate reflection of who you are and what your brand is or your brand values are. If you’re not doing that, you could be missing some serious opportunities. In today’s video, I’ll walk you through how to create Instagram content for your brand.
First you need to make sure that you have your business foundations in place – otherwise any content you are creating is a waste of time.
What do I mean when I say foundations? You need to know your aesthetics, brand voice, brand personality, core values, your unique value proposition… of these are the key to creating killer content and a strategic plan.
Are you a little intimidated by what I just said? You can check out this video on creating content from your business values to get you started! And if you want to take a deeper dive you can take a look at my group coaching program linked below where I walk you through these step-by-step.
Next we need to make sure that you are identifying your target audience. Do not make the mistake of talking to everyone. You didn’t create your business for everyone…you created your product or service to help a specific person. Hone in on that person and start creating your content to cater to them. Once you figure this out your content planning gets way easier.

After this you want to sketch out your content pillars. Have you taken the time to list out your pillars? This strategy has been around for a while, however nowadays you need to REALLY dig in. Don’t just list off 3-5 random things that apply to your life…instead narrow in on your niche and then create a list of possible pillars – are any similar and can be merged together? You want to only have 3-5 pillars, any more and our audience will get confused.. After you are done condensing your list to 3-5 pillars you then want to break them down even further.
Yes. Break down your content pillars into 3-5 micro topics of each pillar. For example: Take the pillar “Mindset”, then break that down into how to handle overwhelm on IG, finding joy on IG again, pushing through fear on IG, vanity metrics, and IG mental health.
From each of your micro topics you should be able to develop a multitude of ideas to create content.
And my final tip for planning Instagram Content for your brand – REPURPOSE your popular content.
If you have posts that have done exceptionally well – reuse them. You can either repost the same post a few months later, or reformat that post. For instance if you posted a feed post that did well you could remake that into a reels, or an IGTV, or a carousel. Are you repurposing your content? Let me know in the comments below!
Having content that reflects you and your brand is SO important to reaching your ideal client. I hope this video has helped you, so please leave a like if it did! Don’t forget to comment with any questions down below.
