Just a couple minutes past the Ogunquit city line is the uber luxurious Cliff House Maine Resort. One of Maine’s most iconic hotels, having opened in 1866 and has one of the most impressive views on the coast. Through the generations, this resort has seen many changes, but most recently Destination Hotels did a complete renovation to the majestic hotel.
Cliff House Maine reopened its doors in 2016 with new guest rooms, a ballroom overlooking the cliff, and restaurants. The decor consists of deep blues, whites, and creams with nods to nautical influence thoughtfully placed throughout the resort.
The front bar of The Tiller Restaurant has a rustic farm house feel with a wonderful fireplace to make the atmosphere cozy and soft. The Tiller Restaurant returns to the nautical theme enhanced by floor to ceiling windows, perfect for a sunset dinner.
In fact, there are numerous fireplaces throughout the hotel, and each one of them makes me yearn to come back during the colder months and sip on a warm cider, or cocktail and enjoy the views with a roaring fire. Speaking of views, the Cliff House Maine delivers in a dramatic way. All the rooms have ocean/water views and the main area of the hotel shows bald head cliff, a stunning giant wall of rock plunging into Maines tumultuous waters. Again, I would love to see this cliff side light

Again, I would love to see this cliff side light afire during those colorful Fall sunsets.
Not only can one be dazzled by the hotel’s scenery, but the town of Ogunquit will be one of your favorite Maine getaway destinations. Meaning “beautiful place by the sea”, Ogunquit delivers with its endless list of things to do. Of course restaurants are pretty amazing too! Take a walk along the gorgeous Marginal Way. Eat at the famed MC Perkins Cove (try the crabcakes!). Take a sunset cruise while sipping on a rosé and catching sights of whales. Understand Maine’s fisherman culture by taking a lobster cruise.
Cliff House Maine is a win win destination. Perfect for couples, families, company retreats, there is something for everyone here. Go ahead, I dare you not to fall in love with this gorgeous little Maine town. And the lovely people that live there.
