Recently I had to quit drinking coffee for a variety of reasons. But the main one is that we have been trying to get pregnant. So I had to say goodbye to my morning lattes. Instead I picked up Chai Tea lattes which I am finding I enjoy much more than my espresso lattes. And the one secret ingredient that makes this drink perfect? So Delicious Dairy Free Organic Almond Milk.
I made the switch to almondmilk a few years ago when I discovered I was BRCA +. Finding out I had the cancer gene and that my odds of getting cancer are exponentially higher than the average person meant I needed to make some dietary changes. One was cutting out dairy, and I LOVE dairy. But this was one of the easiest changes for me because So Delicious Dairy Free Organic Almond Milk tastes incredible! I use their flavors for different recipes, but for my chai tea lattes, the vanilla is the exact ingredient that makes my latte taste like heaven!
Whats better yet is that I can now find So Delicious Diary Free Organic Almondmilk at Target – who else loves to grocery shop at target? Lets be honest, just buy anything and everything at target? Chai Tea Recipe found on Epicurious
- 2-inch piece fresh ginger cut into thin rounds
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 2 teaspoons black peppercorn
- 10 whole cloves
- 6 cardamom pods
- 6 cups cold water
- 6 bags of black tea
- So Delicious Dairy Free Organic Almondmilk Vanilla
- 1/2 cup packed golden brown sugar
Combine first 5 ingredients in medium saucepan, use a large spoon to lightly crush or bruise spices. Add 6 cups of water, and bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to medium-low, partially cover the pan and simmer gently for 10 minutes. Remove from heat. Add tea bags steep five minutes. Discard tea bags. Stream tea into a container. You can add the sugar if you like, or I add it as I drink each serving. Finally, I steam the So Delicious Dairy Free Organic Almondmilk and add it, however, you don’t have to froth the milk, you can just add it in! Voila! You are done and you have 6 servings that you can store in the fridge.
