Then
Back in 2014 I was diagnosed with the BRCA2 mutation. BRCA stands for “breast cancer gene”. The BRCA mutation means that my body can not fight off cancer cells, and so my chances of getting cancer are much higher than the average population.
I decided to move forward with a prophylactic double mastectomy, and during my recovery I found comfort in social media with beautiful images of places I had been, and places I wanted to go. I decided to start a travel blog to share beautiful images and travel itineraries.
Starting the blog was a way of throwing myself head first into dealing with situations I wasn’t sure how to react to in a creative way. Pouring my heart into the camera has helped me in ways I never even imagined possible. I was able to not only change my perspective from behind the lens, and learn to find the simple beauty and joy in the world we live in.
Now
Today I’m able to pursue my artistry passionately, constantly looking to slow life down into single moments. These single moments captured on images ground me, and bring about a natural state of happiness, for which I am always grateful.
Living in New England has provided an abundance of inspiration through bright colors, dramatic coastlines, and urban settings with historical elegance. I love to involve the community and rely on my social media friends to help choose images that go into the shop. Including y’all is one of my favorite roads to travel on for this journey.
My Mission
The very definition of Joy is “a feeling or state of great delight or happiness.” I want to bring lively and colorful scenes to introduce joy to your space. My hope is that my images in your home or office bring many smiles, or even memories of a particular location. There is so much magic in the every day, and nature provides the ultimate canvas. Being able to give that to you is a gift that I will always cherish.
