Check out this Video of Newport Daffodil Days
While New England is always late to the game with Spring blooms we do have some pretty amazing springtime floral events, along with some gorgeous flower fields! First in bloom is the daffodils! And Newport, Rhode Island celebrates their first sign of spring with the Newport Daffodil Days Festival!
Every year for two weeks in April Newport celebrates with fun activities and events to usher in the coming of the Spring season! Storefronts decorate with bright and cheerful daffodil displays. Hotels hold cocktail parties on the lawn. Trolleys {FREE!} take you for a tour around town so you can view all of the lovely yellow blooms. There is even a beach clean up event at the Cliff Walk
What’s really spectacular about the Newport Daffodil Days Festival is that it is an all volunteer event. And together they have planted over 1.3 MILLION bulbs around the city.
While you can see blooms all over town during the festival, I highly recommend heading to the Cliff Walk for an afternoon stroll, along with taking in the window displays down by the wharf!
