This fairy tale city goes by many names but The Golden City in particular stands out because as you stroll down the streets during dusk and dawn the entire town is illuminated in the softest golden tones. I am constantly inspired throughout my travels, and Prague provided endless beauty. So in this post I am sharing an extremely detailed 3 day Prague itinerary so you can experience all the best this lovely city has to offer!
| Tips | Make sure to have cash (koruna). There are still quite a few places that do not take credit cards. Pack sneakers/shoes with grip. There are a lot of hills, and most of the streets are old with cobblestone. Many people speak English however if they don’t everyone is always friendly and willing to figure things out. Uber is perfectly safe and a great mode of transportation, but they also have a great public transportation system! All the giant dessert cones you see on instagram (tredlnik) are actually Romanian! Czech is known for its food and Prague takes the cake (literally!) so continue reading to find out where to go for a true traditional Czech pastry! Walk the Charles Bridge during the day AND at night. I have yet to see a more beautiful setting veiled in dark with history that entices you to know more.
My Prague Itinerary: Day 1
| Stay | The Cosmopolitan Hotel Prague is a luxury hotel in an ideal location in Prague. This hotel has blush colored ceilings with suede fabrics and a show stopping marble floor in the lobby. Besides carrying all the modern luxuries it also houses one of the best restaurants in Prague – Next Door Restaurant – where I was served one of my top 3 meals in my life. Yes, I keep track.
Built in 1889 it used to be a large stately townhouse. Now, completely renovated, it has kept all of the old world charm mixed in with contemporary decor. All 100 rooms are spacious with large bathrooms, and lots of natural light.
The Cosmopolitan Hotel Prague also offers a car service to pick you up from the airport. Do you have any idea what a relief it is to walk off the plane and already have a ride to your hotel? Brilliant.
Located within walking distance to so many major sites, and surrounded by some of Prague’s best restaurants, this is the luxury hotel not to be missed. Also make sure you enter “welcome” for the promotional code to get 10% off your stay!
| Lunch | After checking in head straight to Lokal. Cooking classic Czech dishes, they source their ingredients fresh regional. Although the food is wonderful it’s the pilsner urquell that you HAVE to try. Beer is a huge part of the culture in and they take great pride in the pilsners. It would be a shame not to have one….or two?
| Afternoon | Leave Lokal and take a five minute walk to Old Town Square. Try to stick around during dusk because the square lights up beautifully as the sun goes down. Here you can see the Gothic Church of Our Lady Before Tyn and the Astronomical Clock. Besides that you’ll get your first taste of how darling Prague can be lively people and striking architecture.
| Pre-Dinner Cocktail | One of the best wine bars in Prague is down a little hidden alley, which leads into a courtyard holding Bokovka. There is a vast array of wine on the list, however if you are a wine lover I suggest you try a Czech red or an Austrian white.
| Dinner | Start your dining experience in Prague with the best – Next Door by Imperial (located in the Hotel Cosmopolitan. From the ornate ceilings, the open kitchen, and the decadent cake case this restaurant exudes chic design. The chef is one of the best chefs in Prague and it shows in the intricately designed menu. Take my advice and order the wild boar, with the Pinot Noir from Northern Czech Republic (if still on menu). And do no skip dessert. I chose sweet dumplings with blueberry ice cream smothered in a luscious cherry glaze. BEYOND delicious.
| After Dinner | If you aren’t too tired from your travels take a walk across the Charles Bridge. While this medieval bridge is gorgeous during the day, it is absolutely magical at night. So be sure to fit a night walk in during your stay!
My Prague Itinerary: Day 2
| Morning | Start your morning off early at Prague Castle. Be sure to get there 15 minutes before they open the gates. Trust me…. there are a lot of tour buses that bring tourists first thing in the morning so if you get there early you are more likely to enjoy your time perusing the largest castle in Europe! Not only do you have the castle but you also have the St. Vitus with it’s spectacular display of stain glass windows Gothic architecture.

If You Have Time
| Havlickovy Sady | This park was recently redone, and sits in a neighborhood that is the new trendy and chic place to live. Within the park is a vineyard and a gazebo that you can sit and sip wine. It also offers some wonderful views of the city!
| Strahov Monastery | One of the oldest monastery’s in Prague, this vast institution has a brewery still serving beer, and they have an old library that is supposed to be extremely impressive!
Whats in my Bag: Prague Itinerary
**This trip was in partnership with The Cosmopolitan Hotel Prague, and the City of Prague. I’m so thankful to The Cosmopolitan Hotel Prague and Next Door by Imperial for welcoming me as their guests. As always, all opinions are my own.
