Inn by the Sea has everything you could want for a coastal New England retreat. A huge property located right on the Atlantic. Decadent rooms, savory cuisine, spectacular lighthouses, and is located only a few miles south of Portland.
Whats really unique about this property is their dog program. Inn by the Sea keeps an adoptable dog on property at all times. Guests can interact with the dogs, take them on walks, spoil them, and best of all adopt them. This program has been so successful that they haven’t had a dog longer than 2 weeks. All the dogs, big and small, get snapped up immediately. To date, they have had 104 dogs adopted! it’s incredible! And makes me love this luxury resort that much more.
Besides the adoptable dog program, this hotel is also dog-friendly. Any size dogs can come visit Inn by the Sea and enjoy a life of leisure with their human. While I was there I had the pleasure of meeting an adventurous standard poodle, and two lovable Burmese mountain dogs. Because Inn by the Sea recognizes how important it is for the dogs to be with their owners the pups are allowed in the lounge bar/restaurant. There is a fine dining restaurant on property, Sea Glass, that is marvelous as well.
I spent my time at Inn by the Sea relaxing in the incredibly cozy, and spacious, Cove suite. These suites come with a kitchenette, living room, two bedrooms, private deck, and a gas fireplace you couldn’t tear me away from. These new suites are beautifully styled and perfect for families and pups!
This is the type of place that once you get there you don’t want to leave. Inn by the Sea has everything you need right on property! But if you do feel the desire to explore I highly recommend a trip to the Portland Head Light, gorgeous in every season. You can also explore all Portland has to offer with its craft breweries, happeneing food scene, and fun downtown area.

**This trip was in partnership with Inn By The Sea. I’m so thankful to them for welcoming me as their guests. As always, all opinions are my own. Also the puppy pictures in this post were provided by Inn By the Sea.

What a marvelous idea for a hotel!! I am in love with the adoptable dogs being on the property! I have such a heart for dogs and cool things like this definitely would convince me to stay here versus other places in the area. So glad you got to post about this hotel!
