At least once a year I head up to Stowe, usually in the Fall, as it is one of my favorite New England towns to visit. This sweet little city in Vermont checks off all the boxes; farm-to-table restaurants, walk-ability, darling shops, spectacular New England views and great places to stay. The food always impresses me so I decided to put together a list of the top 5 Stowe restaurants to visit.

Top 5 Best Stowe VT Restaurants:

Plate –

Located right in Stowe Village {within walking distance of Field Guide and the Farm Home} is an entire culinary experience. Designed by an architect, there isn’t a space that isn’t worthy of taking a closer look at while you dine on a variety of flavors freshly prepped in the kitchen. The wine list compliments the menu, and it’s always hard not to eat here every night when I am in town.

Doc Ponds –

A local’s favorite, this casual dining establishment that is perfect for those spending days skiing on the mountain. They have 24 rotating taps and offer over 100 bottles and cans for the beer lovers! Their electric menu brings together bright flavors such as their mac and cheese with Vermont cheddar, and their ever changing taco bowls.

Hen of the Wood –

Located in Waterbury, right outside of Stowe, Hen of the Wood is a true farm-to-table restaurant. The restaurant is in an old brick mill which used to be the Waterbury Feed Co. This setting offers a rustic intimate charm that matches the creative menu that changes on a daily basis. Hen of the Wood is without a doubt one of Vermont’s top 5 restaurants to experience.

Solstice –

Delicious food in a casual yet refined dining space. Right inside the Lodge at Spruce Creek. Enjoy some short braised ribs while looking out the two-story floor-to-ceiling windows with views of Spruce Peak. Besides enjoying dinner you can also swing in for breakfast, like their delicious maple scones.

Cafe on Main –

I can’t create this list and not add the Cafe on Main. If you have ever seen the Hallmark channel during the Christmas season this is the quintessential cafe where everyone gathers for their coffee and breakfast. Cafe on Main serves up the classics like eggs with bacon, egg sandwich, omelettes and home fries. but also mouth watering pastries to go with your morning cup of coffee.

Places to Stay:

For a fun chic lodge style getaway Field Guide is always my pick! I’ve stayed at this beautifully styled hotel 2 times and each time the spacious suites with cozy vibes feel like home.
