Going to Vegas and thinking you need a “sober” excursion? Or just looking for a good ole fashioned Southwest road trip? Make sure you swing through the Valley of Fire. The oldest state park in Nevada, and **bonus** pets are allowed! Leashed of course!
One day is all you need to explore the trails and see the sights. Stunning red sandstone formations, old stone that looks like beehives, natural arches, 3,000 year old Indian petroglyphs, and tons of photography opportunities. We stayed through sunset and the stone turns from reds, to pinks, to deep mauve purples.
Definitely get the map and drive by the sights ~ and make sure you do “the wave” trail!
Want to see more of the American Southwest? Check out Horseshoe Bend, and Antelope Canyon!
